My wife Carol and her best friend Jake our Golden Labrador,he is also part of the security system.
Places of Interest Stranraer Golf Club House and looking down the 5th fairway towards Loch Ryan If you enjoy a game of golf there are five courses within a 25 mile radius of Stranraer. My own club, half a mile from home, enjoys superb views of Loch Ryan and the course is a test for the very best. TURNBERRY HOTEL and its famous courses are about 1 hour away travelling by car. PORTPATRICK is a picturesque village with excellent hotels and very good eating establishments. If you wished to spend a day in Belfast the ferry journey is most enjoyable with excellent facilities on board. For those who are keen gardeners we are very fortunate to have the famous LOGAN BOTANICAL GARDENS some 12 miles from the town, here you can wander around and marvel at some of the most amazing plants on Gods earth from around the world. Also in the vicinity are Glenwhan Gardens, Ardwell Gardens and Castle Kennedy Gardens. All have lots to offer with Castle Kennedy especially interesting during May and early June. The display of rhododendrons and azaleas is spectacular and should not be missed. If you visit the gardens at Logan drive on past for about 1 mile and enjoy the village of Port Logan - this is where the BBC film the series " 2000 Acres of Sky" Stranraer is also home to Hamilton Mc Millan, five times European Curling Champion and who won the World Championship, which was held in Canada, during 1999.
