The Birdroom measures 20ft x14ft and is made from tongue and grooved shiplap timber and stands on a brick foundation, ensuring good air flow underneath the constructioin. It is fully insulated using 8 x2 ft polystyrene sheets. This greatly assists in maintaining heat during the winter months. Also installed is a Flexel heater which I find to be very economical to run.  Temperature in the Birdroom is never allowed to drop below 50F. Lighting and ventilation system operate on timers. Enjoy your look at the birdroom.

The outside flight was removed during August 2003 and the space utilised to extend the inside flight. This has I believe provided much more space and light for the birds in general.

Inside flight now measures 12 ft by 8 ft.  Note the additional perching on what was the outside flight. New Punch Bar panels were supplied by Thomas Cages

18 Breeding cages.

 Sizes are 24 x18 x 16

Looking down towards the stock cages of which there are three. These are a good size and are  5ft x18 x 16

Nursery flight and training area for show preparation. Below and to the side is further storage area and work bench.

Another view of the flight area showing the additional perching and the seed hopper on what is now the outside wall.

Another view showing the new Punch bar panels which really show the birds off much better.

February 2005

Small work area with storage space underneath and entry to flight. Again note the new perching on the far wall to the right. Also note the new Aviary  Punch Bar panels. These were fitted during February 2005.

A view taken from inside the flight. The new perching is hinged to the wall and  supported by chains fixed to the ceiling. This  makes it very easy when cleaning the perches and flight.
